So, Freya has been through many tests, she has had an MRI, and they tested for chromosome defects and syndromes. All tests came up negative and the MRI did not show any large brain damaged areas. One thing it did show though. The brain has four ventricles, three of these turned out to be somewhat wider than normal and one of them had signs of healed damage. The doctor didn't want to say that it proves that Freya's brain damage was causes by birth, but she did say that the damage fits in well with the birth story...

Freya is changing on a daily base, she makes all kinds of sounds, says "kijken" ( Dutch word for to look ) and "keuken" ( Dutch word for kitchen ) and some more. She is getting more stable all the time and can slowly walk while holding one hand. She can very clearly show what she wants, shake her head for "no", nodding is a bit more complicated, but then again, what do toddlers need the word "yes" for hm? ;)She has started beimg interested in drawing and understands complex sentences in dutch, swedish and german.

This is what she does mostly now, walking around the play-pen. She lets go sometimes and stands alone for a couple of seconds.

We had U7 ( url is in German! ) for Freya yesterday, it was very tough for Freya. The check up itself wasn't very special, just weight, length, does she give and take a ball, ears, eyes. The usual, but for Freya this is torture, she cried throughout the whole session and of course is tired like crazy today. Freya's after-any-type-of-check-tiredness. She is growing nicely, a bit under average but nothing abnormal. She is now about 80 cm, weighs 9960 g and her head circumference is 46,5 cm.

She was also vaccinated for "windpokken" or chicken pox.
