Web blog entry number seven.

The Finns are crazy about ice hockey as you all might know and they have this big plan going on how to get a gazillion good hockey players in the eternal fight against evil Sweden. Every winter they freeze all open spaces so that you can hardly go out the door without putting your skates on. Close to where we live, in a radius of say 500 meters, there are at least 6 skating areas available!

So today, being a really nice winters day, we packed some nice things to eat, our skates and went down to one of the ice fields and hung out for a couple of hours.We skated and made some abominable snowmen that looked more like gorillas to be honest, but it was fun!Despite about 10 cm of wet snow covering the

ice, we didn't have toexperience any broken limbs, teeth or noses.

In the evening it has started to rain and the snow is melting away. Seems like the normally secure winters in Tampere are giving in to global warming and green house effects :( My thoughts go out to the poor Dutch people. Amanda told me about her child hood skating trips on the black ice of the Dutch channel systems. But nowdays you'd rather bring your canoe instead if you don't want to get wet!

Isn't he cute? Terje has finally got his own pet. You know what they say about dogs and their owners, that they look alike? The same seems to be true about fish...a spitting image! Latin name: Ancistrus. Normal name: Bristlenose Pleco. Match weight: about 25 g. And then a cute butt to add to that. Incase you need more clues as to which fish we are talking about, it's NOT the goldfish...
