Web blog entry number eighteen.

We have just come home again after having been on holiday in the Netherlands. It was really good to see my family again, my brother got to see his niece for the first time in real life, which was great, and I got to see how my nephew has grown into a energetic one and a half year old ;)

The first time flying I was a bit concerned about how Freya would react to flying, but she was a real trooper, smiling and having fun, she drank her milk during the take off and landing so she had no ear problems ( due to pressure change ), she slept and in general was an absolute dream baby to travel with!

These pictures were taken in the last plane from Stockholm to Tampere.

The weather changed gradually, from sunny warm ( 25C )in the netherlands, to sunny-cooler in Stockholm ( 18C ) and sunny, but even cooler ( 16C ) in Tampere.

During our stay the weather was fantastic, we even had time to go to the beach!

Freya sat in her Babybjörn and was very impressed with waves coming in and the little shells in the sand, she was "speaking" the whole time we were walking on the beach. She also met some family from my mothers side, my grandmother, two uncles and an aunt ( &co ). But... it is also nice to be in our house again, Freya fall asleep almost immediately :)

Web blog entry number seventeen.

Some weeks ago I decided to be a responsable parent and make sure that I am in good health, so I called the health centre and sceduled time for a pap test and a breast check . The appointment was today, I will have the results of the pap test six weeks from now and the breast check result was good, meaning, nothing suspicious.
It is recommended that you take the pap test every year and that you check your breasts always the last day of your period.
The pap test is not a very pleasant experience ( understatement of the year... ), but it is worth it if you can prevent cancer from developing!

Oh, I have the sweetest cat in the world. Sjah brings me breakfast every morning. Yes, it's a pity he doesn't understand that I am in fact not a strange looking big cat with the same food taste as him, but a human being. And ordinarily we human beings don't eat mice, and we specifically do not appreciate walking into small blood baths every morning on a still sober stomach...

I seriously had no clue there were so many mice here, and the amount of different species and forms! I have seen them all, big small, with short tails, long tails, short snouts, long snouts, grey, brown, white bellies, almost completely untouched, but dead, alive, partly alive, a little wounded, severly wounded and this morning a down right blood bath.

I am starting to long back for the times that we lived in an apartment, far far away from the down floor with absolutely no possibility of the cats being outdoors. But thats selfish I guess.

He is so proud of it too, he makes this really low sound to announce that he is coming with food and he comes cuddle with me and stuff, trying to lure me into coming and see his great catch. Cute hm? ;)

My grandfather ( mothers father ), makes these leaf prints in concrete. Now imagine my surprise as I walk to the store, here in far far away Finland, and what do I see in a garden on my way? leaf prints in concrete! Isn't it cool how two people, who know nothing about eachother, living in totally different places with totally different cultures ( and I promise you Dutch and Finnish culture are very different )think of the same thing?

And then there is this photo of Freya and me that I just put here because I like it, I made it myself ;)

Ah, life with cats, it never gets dull now does it? First he comes home with birds ( Sjah, that is ), but I found a solution to that, the cats stay in the house between 2300 and 600, so no more birds ( Sjah seems to catch most birds between these hours ), but now a new element has come in to play, mice. Poor thing, we didn't find any wounds or blood, so who knows. We will keep him over night, see if he lives, and then we try to imagine where Sjah got it from and set it free.
